Knitting in the round

This past weeks task - learning to knit in the round. It really is so much easier than it sounds. I learned how to do this little trick on double point needles and it is opening up many new possibilities in my knittting. Cast on right now is leg warmers for an upcoming baby shower, I am even thinking about adding these to my shop for selling. My next project is going to be tackling socks for Christmas presents. Knitting seems to have a way of relaxing me in the evenings after at least one child is asleep for the night. Also with cloth diapering, I'm thinking about making a few sets for my youngest since cloth diapers always seem to make a babies bottom to big for most pants and let's face it a diaper and leg warmers is just cute.

Tommorrow marks 3 weeks since Wyatt was born. Wow, it really has gone by fast already. As I'm getting back into the swing of things this week after company leaving I'm trying out a few new recipes. Today I made homemade ketchup from a recipe I found at skinnytaste.com/2012/06/homemade-ketchup.html, I'm waiting for it to cool to taste it and see how we like it. I did it a little different for the tomato paste, since I dehydrated some tomatoes last year from the garden, I rehydrated them and it made the ketchup a little darker but I'm going to try this with fresh tomatoes later this summer. I'm also trying out a homemade oreo cookie recipe. I'll post that recipe some other time though since Wyatt wants held right now and that's my top priority.

knitting project

It's always an excited day when I get an etsy order. Today I sold a quilted mug rug and now have a few ideas to design some of my own. This winter I took on the project of learning how to knit and completed a blanket for our new baby due in just 10 short weeks. I wanted a better picture but the sun just doesn't seem to want to shine for me so that I can get a few good pics. This is a simple pattern that I found on ravelry.com, it's called the sunny baby blanket. That name doesn't really go with the color that I picked but with not knowing what the baby is going to be a gray is neutral and so popular right now that it fits right in. It's one of the few things that I have been able to make lately. So far I've made my cloth diapers, and fleece soakers, but other than that I haven't done much planning besides finding things to make after the baby is born.
